In June 2019, Adopt Me added the Pink & Blue Eggs to the game to kick off the Pet Update where players would be able to take care of pets for the first time. Players could also trade their pets with one another. Over time, Adopt Me added new eggs to the game and introduced Robux pets like the Shadow Dragon (during the 2019 Halloween event). Items would then go out of game which made it only possible to get them through trading.
At the same time, Adopt Me was growing quickly in popularity. This created some major supply & demand issues that drove the value of some pets way up. However, it was quite hard to keep track of as a player because new pets and other items kept getting introduced while other pets and items went out of game. Not all players knew this though. They would end up making bad trades, like an Arctic Reindeer for a Cat without realizing they could actually get multiple Mega cats for that pet.
To help fight this, players started making tier lists, posting value lists on reddit, discussing trades online, and much more. However, there were tons of disagreements about values and there wasn't really any one source to go to for help. This is when AdoptMeTradingValues.com began. We created the first value site for Adopt Me. Over the years, several other value websites popped up. This was good for players because it gave even more sources to check values when making big trades or when needing to do some value research.
Check out our video embedded above for more details about the History of Values in Adopt Me.
How Does AMTV Get Its Values?
Research! We spend countless hours checking the values of all items. We incorporate the following components into all of our value decisions:
- In-game trades that we make and witness
- Offers & trades made through our website
- Suggestions made to us by our proprietary AI (Artificial Intelligence) system that monitors tens of thousands of trades each day on our website
- Suggestions made to us by users just like YOU through our Feedback Form
- We monitor values posted by our competitors to look for any major discrepancies. If we notice a major difference between their values and ours, we investigate thoroughly. Sometimes they are right; sometimes they are wrong.
- We monitor various online communication platforms to see what people are saying about items, what offers they are making, etc.
- We use our brains and common sense.
- For newer pets, we take into account how difficult it is/was to get them, how much they cost (bucks/Robux/event currency), and primarily in-game offers. When new pets are released, we get them as soon as they are first available and start trading in game. You might notice that we release trading videos of brand new pets on the same day that they are released as additional proof of what their initial values are.
- We consider values from both the seller's perspective and the offerer's perspective.
- We have an item Demand system that is completely objective and helps give clues about which pets may be rising in value (as value is often pushed up by high demand in any type of economy).
How Should Players Use Values?
Values should be viewed like advice from a friend. Ultimately, YOU must use your brain and make the final decision for every trade. We encourage you to never make trades just based on numbers or because 1 website says something is a win. That sounds like 0 fun.
We encourage you to check as many resources as possible when making a big trade that you are unsure about. Check every value website, check out current offers & recently completed trades on our website, ask your friends, look at recent trading videos on YouTube, etc. The more information you have, the better equipped your brain will be to make a good decision!
Should I Trust AMTV Values?
We aim to earn players' trust by providing helpful information to you. As the original value website for Adopt Me, our goal has always been to protect players from taking big losses in their trades and to give players tools to further enjoy the game.
If you take a look around our website, you might notice that we love Adopt Me. From our trivia & card simulator games to our trading & auction systems and our hundreds of YouTube videos, etc. We have also acted as the community watchdog to publicly call out value manipulation schemes and other scams. We just want to give some extra help and enjoyment to Adopt Me players.
